Fox News Panel Mocks March Trump Tweet Hitting NY Times For ‘False Story’ on Legal Team Shakeup

“After the New York Times reportedWednesday that one of President Donald Trump‘s lawyers, Ty Cobb, is retiring, a Fox News panel called attention to one of Trump’s previous tweets in which he stated his “full confidence” in Cobb.

Donald J. Trump

I have agreed with the historically cooperative, disciplined approach that we have engaged in with Robert Mueller (Unlike the Clintons!). I have full confidence in Ty Cobb, my Special Counsel, and have been fully advised throughout each phase of this process.

“I do want to say that in March, the New York Times reported that the president was considering hiring Emmet Flood, and he said that the ‘failing New York Timespurposefully wrote a false story saying I am unhappy with my legal team on the Russia case

and I am going to add another lawyer to help out. Wrong! I am very happy with my lawyers John Dowd, Ty Cobb, and Jay Sekulow. They are doing a great job,’” Pavlich said as the other panelists laughed.

“So maybe at the moment he was totally happy with them but it certainly played out that that story became true at some point,” Pavlich added.

Also worth noting this tweet denied — specifically — that he was hiring Emmet Flood. He has now hired Emmet Flood.
