Margaret Brennan grilled White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Face The Nation Sunday morning over Rudy Giuliani’s comments regarding the release of prisoners from North Korea.

“Why is Rudy Giuliani talking about issues of national security?” Brennan asked Conway. “He is speaking about the release of three American prisoners from North Korea whose lives are literally on the line.”

“They are,” Conway replied. “And we are very hopeful, but obviously very anxious about hostages abroad –”

“But did the president authorize him to speak on such a sensitive matter?” Brennan interjected. “He doesn’t have a security clearance and he doesn’t work where you do, in the White House.”

“Not that I’m aware of,” Conway replied. “I have a security clearance and I’m not going to divulge anything like that. I’ll leave that to the president and his security team, obviously he’s chief diplomat, to make any announcements.”

Conway did not answer why Giuliani is still going on T.V. to talk about things.
