Sarah Sanders dodges on why Trump lawyer paid off Stormy: ‘We don’t have to come up with something new to say’

During Tuesday’s White House, CBS correspondent Steven Portnoy asked Sanders why Trump and his attorney offer payments to people “essentially buying their silence.”

“I’m hoping you can explain why the president’s attorney paid Stormy Daniels $130,000 in the days before the election if her claims were false,” the correspondent wondered.

“Once again, I would refer you to the president’s outside counsel on that,” Sanders said. “The president has denied those allegations.”

“Just because you guys continue to ask the same question over and over again, doesn’t mean we have to come up with something new to say,” Sander snapped at a similar question later in the briefing.
